We may submit a flight report to tell other members of the aviation community about our planned aerial activity to help improve safety.
We use a number of apps including Drone Assist to give us live information on airspace activity. This app also enables us to file flight plans as well as view ground hazards, no fly zones etc.
Drone technology is highly advanced, there are however limitations in terms of when we can fly due to adverse weather conditions.
Wind & rain can present particular issues so we constantly monitor weather conditions with live apps and anemometers to measure wind speed whilst on site. Weather conditions at ground level especially wind may not always reflect conditions at a height of up to 400ft where wind and gusts can be significantly stronger.
We have a range of drones and some that are particularly suited to higher wind speeds. All our drones will send an alert to the operator and an instruction to land if speeds exceed the safe operating parameters of the aircraft.
Safety is paramount and we'll advise if it's not safe to fly/continue.
We Can Create A Desktop Flight Plan PriorTo The Actual Flight. We Can Show You The Proposed Altitude, Heading, Speed, Camera Angles, Waypoints And Topography. We May Also Visit The Location To Conduct A Survey And Risk Assessment. Please Contact Us If You'd like Further Information On Our RAMS ( Risk And Method Statements ).
Prior to visiting sight we'll very often use 3D software to give us an overview and opportunity to look for any potential obstacles and restrictions.
Mapping is a really useful tool when we're discussing what your objective is and what you want to capture with your drone flight.
We Record
Every flight we undertake is recorded to include detailed information on the drones location, height, distance, speed and orientation. We have information on the number of satellites providing the GPS signal along with the signal strenght between the drone and the controller. This provides a record to illustrate that the drone was being operated to the CAA regulations.
We Review
We take the opportunity to review the flight data to determine why the drone may have behaved in a certain way. Modern drones are incredibly reliable, typically issues arise from user error. Having telematics enables us to understand and learn from any scenario which may have presented an issue.
We Save
All flight records and data are stored in a secure cloud based vault.
We Adhere To The Drone Code And We're CAA A2COFC Licensed
We're Fully Insured For Private, Domestic & Commercial Work
